This crop was originally introduced to the U.S via Jon Jackson, a retired U.S. Army Airborne Ranger and founder of Comfort Farms, a non-profit agriculture program focused on helping veterans to heal and learn sustainable farming practices. Motherland Okra will be a featured crop on the Dennisur Farm, which will be incorporated into our dinner menu, among other African and Afro-American inspired dishes and ingredients, celebrating the rich culture of the African diaspora, and the food traditions created, sustained, and transformed throughout this history.

About Cremalosa

Cremalosa is handmade, artisanal gelato, spun in small batches every day, with the expertise of Italian technique from owner-operator and local food writer Meredith Ford. At Cremalosa, she brings a special touch to age-old Italian methods, creating sweet frozen treats of powerful American flavors inspired by the Southern cakes, cookies and candy bars she grew up with.

About Blended Family Spirits

Blended Family Spirits is a fine liqueurs producer created by Scott Mayer, a bartender with over 20 years of experience in the industry who grew up in Georgia. Slow Food ATL Book Club // The Tenth Muse by Judith Jones

Living in Paris after World War II, Jones broke free of bland American food and reveled in everyday French culinary delights. On returning to the States she published Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. The rest is publishing and gastronomic history. A new world now opened up to Jones as she discovered, with her husband Evan, the delights of American food, publishing some of the premier culinary luminaries of the twentieth century: from Julia Child, James Beard, and M.F.K. Fisher to Claudia Roden, Edna Lewis, and Lidia Bastianich. Here also are fifty of Jones's favorite recipes collected over a lifetime of cooking-each with its own story and special tips. The Tenth Muse is an absolutely charming memoir by a woman who was present at the creation of the American food revolution and played a pivotal role in shaping it.
