Malcolm Gladwell, in his bestselling book Outliers, states “10,000 hours is the magic number of greatness.” Our curated Artisans and Chefs all have over 10,000 hours in their fields and are passionate and knowledgeable, real savants in their fields. Members and Guests have an opportunity to go behind the scenes with local Artisans and Chefs and experience a hands-on deep dive into a particular product or skill from these local experts.

An all-too-common question from a potential Slow Food member is, “what do I get for my membership?” While the shared ideals and goals of the Slow Food International mission should be the primary motivator, we have a tangible offer as well. The creation of “Slow Food For Thought: Foodways Education Series” bolsters both Slow Food Atlanta’s membership benefit offerings as well as it’s educational goals.

This year’s Slow Food for Thought: Foodways Education Series is connecting you with the best of Atlanta’s growers, curators & artisans. 

And the best part is that you can get your learning on for almost nothing! Each workshop will cost members a reduced fee and non-members can become a member, starting at $60. That means if you’re not a member and more than one of these look up your alley, your membership will pay for itself!
